Description:

Optical Manufacturing Technician /Final Assembly Summary Overview:

  • 100% onsite at 5301 Stevens Creek Boulevard; Santa Clara, CA 95051.
  • Work Schedule/Hours: DAY SHIFT - Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (PST) with potential overtime expectations.
  • Contract Duration: 24-months.

Duties:

  • Assemble and align optics to specification.
  • Optical Test and Alignment Technicians require a mix of technical knowledge in photonics or physics, hands-on experience with precision optical components, and proficiency in alignment, testing, and measurement tools.
  • Proficiency with optical test equipment (interferometers, spectrometers, autocollimators, power meters, beam profilers, oscilloscopes, microscopes).
  • Ability to transport test and product fixtures weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Proficiency in general computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for documenting, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience in aligning lenses, lasers, mirrors, and fiber optics, often to sub-micron or arcsecond tolerances.
  • Ability to handle delicate and small precision optical components.
  • Perform functional tests to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Experience with clean room environments is frequently necessary.
  • Align and calibrate complex laser systems and optical assemblies.
  • Document testing procedures and report results.
  • Knowledge of laser and optics safety standards.               

Required Skills

  • AA or AS degree is required.
  • Minimum 3- 5 years’ experience working in optical test and alignment, including troubleshooting and repair of optical systems.
  • Proficiency with optical tools and instruments including autocollimators and Fizeau interferometers.
  • Capable to lift heavy tooling up to 40 lbs.
  • Strong background working with computers including running technical applications, performing data entry into MS Excel and general Windows-based skillset (copy/paste files, etc.)
  • Ability to work individually in a team setting with other technicians and engineers.
  • Ability to cross train in a flexible manufacturing cell environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.
  • Strong understanding of optical principles and systems. 

Pay Transparency:

This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay someone for this position is $31.00/hour - $42.00/hour W-2.
