Job Title: Materials Coordinator (Optics Clean Room)
Position Details:
- 100% onsite at 3050 Coronado Drive; Santa Clara, CA 95054.
- Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 40 hours/week.
- Approximately 24-months contract (Target Start/End Date: 08/25/2025 - 08/22/2027).
- Location: Coronado Department: Final Assembly.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and highly organized Material Coordinator to join our optics assemblies production team. This individual will be responsible for managing the inventory, handling, and distribution of delicate optical components and related materials within a strict cleanroom environment. The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, experience with inventory management systems, and a strong understanding of cleanroom protocols to ensure the integrity of our high-precision optical assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Accurately receive, inspect, and stock incoming optical components, consumables, and mechanical components. Maintain precise inventory records using an ERP system (e.g., Oracle) and perform regular cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
- Material Handling & Kitting: Prepare and deliver complete, contamination-free production kits to assembly technicians according to the production schedule. Handle, clean, and package sensitive optics (lenses, mirrors, prisms) following established procedures to prevent scratches, particulates, or other damage.
- Cleanroom Control: Adhere rigorously to all cleanroom protocols, including proper gowning procedures, material entry/exit logs, and contamination control measures. Monitor and maintain the stock of cleanroom bulk items.
- Documentation & Tracking: Maintain detailed records of material movements, kit issues, and inventory levels. Use a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to track WIPs and ensure full traceability of all components used in assemblies.
- Coordination & Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between the planning, purchasing, quality, and production departments to resolve any material shortages, discrepancies, or quality issues promptly.
- Communicate material status updates to production supervisors to prevent line-down situations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate’s degree in a technical field is a plus.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in material handling or inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Direct experience working in a cleanroom (ISO Class 5-7) is strongly preferred.
- Experience handling fragile, high-value components such as optics, electronics, or semiconductors is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with MRP/ERP software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Working Conditions:
- The role is performed primarily within a certified cleanroom environment.
- Must be able to wear required cleanroom attire (bunny suit, hood, gloves, booties) for extended periods.
- Must be comfortable with no make up or perfume at work due to cleanroom requirements.
- The position may require standing or sitting for long durations.
- Must be comfortable working with chemicals and cleaning agents (IPA/Acetone) used for precision cleaning of optical components.
Pay Transparency:
This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay someone for this position is $36.00/hour - $38.00/hour W-2.
