Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Position Details:
- Location: Calabasas, CA (remote with travel to Calabasas – every other month, 1/quarter, stay duration would be about a work week – Sun-Fri).
- Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 40 hours/week.
- 10-months contract (Target Start/End Date: 02/02/2026 - 12/31/2026).
- Ideally, the candidate would be in the Calabasas area however, the manager is open to having a remote candidate, but they MUST be available to work 8 am – 5 pm PDT daily.
- Remote workers will be required to visit Calabasas, CA office; length and frequency to be determined.
- Interview Process: Initial Teams interviews (1-2 people), 2nd level interview via Teams, examples of prior work if available (portfolio – applicable to this position)
- No C2C - W-2 only.
Job Description:
- Develop state-of-the-art IP test products
- Design mechanical and thermal system solutions, includes sourcing off-the-shelf parts
- Simulate and design thermal solutions
- Work with suppliers to resolve DFM/DFA concerns
- Validate designs, obtain quotes, build and test prototypes
- Remote workers will be required to visit Calabasas, CA office; length and frequency to be determined
Skillset/Requirements:
- Education Requirement: Min. bachelor's degree (Mechanical Engineer/Physics/related field), 6-10 years' related work experience
- Experienced with direct-to-chip liquid cooled system design and implementation, including cold plate design, manifold design and sourcing off-the-shelf components.
- Proven track record in product development from concept including detail design and design validation
- Strong design skills, analytical problem solving and attention to detail
- Experience designing complex electro-mechanical systems & thermal management solutions including liquid cooling
- Knowledge of sheet metal, machined parts, plastic and extrusion fabrication methods
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SolidWorks, experience with simulation tools, SolidWorks flow simulation
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Excellent verbal and written English skills and ability to work in small teams required
- Knowledge of networking/data center equipment
- Experience with SolidWorks Flow Simulation a plus
Pay Transparency:
- This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay someone for this position is $78.80/hour - $105.07/hour W-2.
